Jesus was impressed by the Roman Centurion whose servant was sick.
Luke 7:4-5 (ESV) And when they came to Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying,
“He is worthy to have you do this for him, for he loves our nation, and he is the one who built us our synagogue.”
The New Testament states the Roman Centurion received the attention of Jesus because he provided funds to build the Jews a synagogue. He received 2 rewards:
1) Healing for someone close to him
2) Commendation from the Lord.
Luke 7:9 (ESV) When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said,
“I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.”
Healing doesn’t begin when you feel sick and need it. Healing begins with your giving.
Because giving expresses your faith. Wealth is best spent on building for God.
